Mum’s Night Out!

Had a lovely night out with some of the other school mums last night. I think I might be growing up (finally) as I managed to only drink two pints despite being in the pub for nearly four hours. Unheard-of restraint for me! And it was lovely – we chatted and chatted, I really got to know people better than you can in rushed school-gate conversations and although I stayed out late, I arrived home pretty sober and I woke up this morning soon after six feeling okay on less than four hours’ sleep. I’ve managed the morning so far on tea and routine and I’m pleased to say the house is looking perfectly acceptable, the children are happy and when Mister gets up it’ll hopefully be into a relaxed weekend environment! Maybe it’s being in my thirties, maybe it’s all the work I’ve put into getting organised the past couple of weeks, but I feel like a wonderful balance is emerging in my life. Blissful!

Oh, and I was reminded why I love this village when I hung my coat up in the pub last night and found on the hook my favourite scarf, which I left on that same hook when I went to a comedy night LAST NOVEMBER! Couldn’t believe it, but love how trustworthy everyone is round here.
